Both use STD terminals and assembly 0, but case dimensions differ. Confirm your vehicle's minimum CCA/Ah, size, terminal polarity and hold-down before changing models.

Will this D23L / 55D23L battery fit my car?

Match the 232 × 175 × 202mm case and 223mm total height, standard SAE terminals, assembly 0 layout and hold-down to your vehicle. Check bonnet clearance and the actual positive/negative positions; a similar battery code alone is not enough. A different terminal layout is not interchangeable.

What about another brand's 55D23L? Compare the full specifications, not just the suffix. Your vehicle's year, engine and electrical system determine the correct battery. This Silver model is a conventional starting battery, not an EFB/AGM stop-start or deep-cycle replacement.

Do I Need a Standard or Stop-Start Battery?

Many modern vehicles use Stop-Start technology, where the engine automatically switches off when you stop at traffic lights to save fuel and reduce emissions. These vehicles require a Stop-Start compatible battery, typically from the EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) range.

  • Your engine automatically turns off at traffic lights
  • You see an A with a circular arrow symbol on your dashboard
  • Your vehicle handbook mentions Stop-Start technology
  • Your current battery is labelled EFB or AGM
