Record each panelโs model, open-circuit voltage (Voc), short-circuit current (Isc) and temperature data. The proposed array arrangement changes the input requirements.
Battery side
Confirm system voltage, chemistry and permitted charge current. Check the controllerโs supported battery settings rather than relying on the word MPPT.

Gather the labels
Send panel labels, panel count, battery details and any existing controller model. Include the planned installation location.

Allow for cold conditions
Panel Voc rises in colder conditions. An installer must check the arrayโs cold-weather voltage against the controllerโs maximum input limit, using panel data.

Confirm the complete design
Series connections affect voltage; parallel connections affect current. Ask the installer to verify array Voc and Isc, power limits, charging current, protection and cable design before buying.

Questions before you buy
Can I choose from panel wattage alone?
No. Arrays with similar wattage can have different voltage and current characteristics. Check all input limits, not only advertised watts.
Does every MPPT suit lithium?
No universal pairing is implied. The exact controller settings and battery requirements must agree.
Can I add panels later?
Only after rechecking the expanded array and system limits. Leave the design check to the installer; spare physical space is not spare electrical capacity.
